Los Angeles, CA, May 2025 -- Earl Grey Anderson, an esteemed and dedicated leader within Southern California's UFO Community, who served as MUFON's State Director of Southern California, contributed as a MUFON STAR Team member, and held a position on the executive committee of MUFON's ERT: The Experiencer Resource Team, departed peacefully on April 27, 2025.
Throughout his tenure with MUFON, Earl successfully resolved numerous High Strangeness cases, with one notable investigation being showcased as one of MUFON's "Cases of the Year" at the 2021 MUFON Symposium. He took charge of facilitating the Experiencer Workshops at both the 2022 Denver Symposium and the 2023 MUFON Symposium in Cincinnati, Ohio. His expertise led to appearances on numerous television programs and documentary films, including the widely-watched series Ancient Aliens, where he shared insights about the UFO Phenomenon. He was also regularly invited as a featured speaker at Contact in the Desert UFO events.
Earl, having personally experienced ET encounters, maintained that the Experiencer Phenomenon represented the core essence of Ufology. He frequently emphasized, "To truly comprehend this phenomenon, we must pay attention to those who have experienced direct encounters."
A man of diverse talents, Earl established himself as an accomplished Singer/Songwriter/Guitarist and a Licensed Nurse. His academic pursuits included studies at Moorpark College, and he later shared his knowledge by teaching UFOlogy at the Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles. He also served as a Founding Member of the Board of Directors of The Hollywood Disclosure Alliance.
As reported on Earl's Facebook Page through a family announcement on April 27, 2025: "Earl Grey Anderson passed away peacefully this morning at 4:04 am. Just a week ago, he had shown remarkable improvement; despite his ongoing battle with cancer, he had returned to his characteristic self: sharing laughs, speaking eloquently, and eagerly anticipating reunions with friends. We were confident in his recovery. However, on Monday, April 21, 2025, he experienced an unexpected cardiac arrest while hospitalized and remained on life support until his passing."
Our family endured an emotionally challenging week of medical interventions and evaluations; however, after exploring every possible treatment option, it became evident that his journey was drawing to a close. He transitioned peacefully this morning with his cherished wife, Lisa, holding his hand. We want to assure everyone who held him dear that throughout his hospital stay, he was continuously surrounded by loved ones. His devoted wife, two daughters, son, and eldest grandson maintained a constant vigil at his bedside. Our family takes solace in knowing that he felt the outpouring of love from those who couldn't be physically present. Our father was an extraordinary presence in our lives; processing this profound loss will require considerable time for all of us, and we deeply appreciate your understanding and patience as we navigate through our grief and handle his affairs in our own private manner. For now, we can only express: We love you, Dad, beyond measure - to Jupiter's moons and back. Thank you for sharing your remarkable spirit so generously with the world.
Earl dedicated his life to UFOlogy, residing in Winnetka, CA, with his beloved wife Lisa and their two feline companions. Dan Harary, who serves as Chairman of The Hollywood Disclosure Alliance, shared these words: "Earl's passing represents an immense loss to our community. His boundless heart and unwavering loyalty touched countless lives. The Southern California UFO Community deeply mourns the loss of this remarkable individual. He was both a mentor and peer – a distinguished researcher and influential voice in our field. But above all, to numerous colleagues across Los Angeles and the United States, he was an irreplaceable friend."
