The Loch Ness Monster and Other Cryptid Legends Comemmorated on New Stamps

The Royal Mail recently unveiled a set of stamps commemorating the legendary Loch Ness Monster and other creatures known in the UK. The collection is described as "fabled figures from popular folklore" in the United Kingdom. The set was drawn by artist Adam Simpson and revealed on Thursday. Naturally the beloved Nesse tops the set and is depicted as a serpentine creature emerging from the waters of Loch Ness with the iconic Urquhart Castle in the background.

Other creatures included in the set and well-known to the Scots, Irish, Welsh, and Brittish people are the Black dog or Demon dog, shapeshifting Selkie, the supernatural entity known as the Grindylow, the Irish warrior Finn MacCool, the Welsh goddess of flowers Blodeuwedd, and the Grendel from the Beowulf epic.
Nessie has her own coin as well, which ws released in 2018 in a set of coins commemorating quintessentially British" icons.
