Solar flares began increasing in 2020 by their largest amount since the year 2000. The intensity began to peak around a year ago and is once again on the rise. In the past few months, people have shared solar flare events corresponding with internet issues, GPS devices not working correctly, WIFI products such as thermostats malfunctioning, wildly vivid dreams and even increased psychic abilities.

About four days before the 8.8 earthquake in Russia, which was followed by a volcano that hadn’t erupted for around 500 years, someone predicted the whole thing. And now, he is predicting an increase in the likelihood of another seismic event for this Saturday, August 9.

Being someone wary of most scientific theories, I looked into this one a bit. Although I believe some of the theories geophysicist Stefen Burns shares are weak in scientific backing, this one checks out. A scholarly article published by Nature on July 13, 2020, shares this theory. Marchitelli, V., Harabaglia, P., Troise, C. et al. On the correlation between solar activity and large earthquakes worldwide. Sci Rep 10, 11495 (2020). https://doi.org/10.1038/s41598-020-67860-3

Burns also has credibility beyond his own YouTube and website; he was a co-host on the Science Channel’s Secrets of the Underground.  While Burns isn’t stating that there will be a super volcano eruption, he isn’t ruling it out. The last eruption of super magnitude eruption was the Yellowstone eruption 640,000 years ago. You can watch Burn’s video here

***UPDATE August 11, 2025- 6.1 Earthquake in Turkey Damaged buildings expected to collapse, dozens known to be injured
