The Kansas City Mothman Returns

I've been investigating the so-called Kansas City Mothman for over 12 years. In 2012, I took a number of reports from local witnesses, and this prompted me to look in to the possiblity that there is at least one such creature in the area near the Missouri River. Whether it is a natural creature, an alien, or an inter-dimensional being remains to be determined, but due to the credibility of the multiple witnesses involved, it is likely very real.
Valerie Hoover has had several encounters with Mothman, the most recent occurring last summer until last week. I covered her previous incidents in an article I wrote in 2024 and in the upcoming documentary film "Portals."
Valerie works on her incredible garden in North Independence daily when the weather is nice. She was putting new plants out when she suddenly had the feeling that a mothman was near. Valerie looked up to see a 7-foot tall black mothman standing in her yard and looking over a fence. It seemed to be watching something, but Valerie could not see what it was over the 6-foot privacy fence in her yard. She stood there, staring at it, then it simply disappeared a few minutes later. She had no fear, just curiosity.
Incidentally, since I've been investigating Mothman, I've also developed a sense for when the creature is nearby, and I've felt his presence for about seven days. My house is only about two miles from Valerie's house, so it is not surprising that we both know when he is around.
Oddly, a tree in my neighbor's yard created a shape of a humanoid with thin legs, no neck, and wings with its limbs and leaves last fall, and the shape did not change all winter long. The leaves stayed on the tree just in that area and nowhere else. I'm not sure what the cause of that was. Now that the leaves have developed all over the tree again, the mothman shape has disappeared; however, it was replaced by a gigantic mothman shape with a very sinister face that involves three trees. This could just be a coincidence, but my feeling is that it is not.
Tony Degn is a Mothman magnet. He has had several sightings of the creature since 2012, as related in my book "Winged Aliens." His most recent sighting occurred in June of 2025 when he was walking from his car to his house. He saw a shadow on the ground in the shape of a huge Mothman, but when he looked up, it dissolved into a fine mist. Others in the area have reported Mothman type shadows on roads and driveways, only to see nothing when they look where it should be flying above them.
Mothman sightings in Missouri began to increase in 2012 and continued through 2021, with only a few reported sightings since, but the numbers of reports are currently increasing. I investigate sightings from anywhere in the world. If you've seen a Mothman, pterodactyl, or giant bird, please send an email to margiekay1111@gmail.com.
