Sasquatch Contest in Borough of Green Tree, Pittsburg, PA

GREEN TREE POLICE DEPARTMENT SASQUATCH CONTEST

The Green Tree Police Department is asking you to support their Officers with bringing out their inner Sasquatch!

For the entire month of November, Green Tree Police Officers will set down their razors and let their beards go wild for a good cause.

Green Tree Officers follow a strictly-enforced grooming policy that requires everyone to be clean-shaven when reporting for duty. The policy will not be enforced in November, as long as the following rules are being followed:

1. Officers must be clean-shaven on October 31, 2025 - no one gets a head start!

2. Each Officer must make a monetary donation to participate in the contest.

3. If an Officer bails out early and shaves, they must make an additional monetary donation. Once an Officer shaves, they are out of the contest and will then have to adhere to the Police Department's Grooming Policy.

4. At the end of the contest, the remaining participants will be judged. The winner of the "Best Beard" will win a special prize.

The idea is simple - let's support a local charity and have a little fun while we're at it!

Green Tree is asking residents to help out by donating to the Unity Food Pantry, which assists local people in need. We will be accepting donations of non-perishable / unexpired food items at the Police Station located at 10 W. Manilla Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15220 through November 30, 2025. There will be a drop-off box in our front lobby. Monetary donations will also be accepted, which allows the Food Pantry to purchase food items at a discounted rate.

According to the BFRO, Pennyslvania ranks number 7 for sasquatch reports nationwide. Perhaps the big guy will show up for the final day of this contest.
