Betting Surge on Polymarket Amid Speculation of Trump’s Possible UFO Document Disclosure

By Faun Grey

The likelihood on Polymarket that President Trump will release UFO documents in 2025 has surged, sparking a new wave of speculation regarding what information could ultimately be revealed from the classified archives.

Hype Around UFO Disclosure Causes Surge in Polymarket 'Yes' Shares

Traders on Polymarket are flocking to the "Yes" side of a : Will President Trump make UFO or UAP files public before the conclusion of 2025? The implied probability in the market surged from single digits early on December 7 to the mid-70s in just a few hours, briefly reaching 81%, marking a remarkable spike for a contract that had remained relatively stagnant for several months.

The agreement will be fulfilled only if the administration makes public any previously classified documents, videos, or reports related to UFOs before December 31. Mere suggestions or assurances will not suffice, as Polymarket demands clear government disclosure or extensively validated reporting to validate a "Yes." Despite these stringent requirements, traders seem untroubled, with over $233,000 invested in the market as buyers purchased shares priced between 76 and 77 cents.

The excitement began around noon as substantial orders caused the chart to surge almost vertically. Polymarket heightened the situation with the caption "BREAKING: Trump projected to declassify the UFO Files this year." Although liquidity was limited, the rapidity and magnitude of the price adjustments indicated either significant confidence or a fear of missing out (FOMO) — both typical factors in the explosive nature of prediction markets.

Why do numerous individuals think that could potentially follow through on this? His previous statements offer ample material. He has shown interest in UFOs, responded positively to Pentagon videos in 2020, and has consistently branded himself as a president focused on transparency. During the 2024 campaign, it was reported that he planned to unveil previously unseen footage if he won another term, a point that reemerges whenever UFO discussions intensify.

Bipartisan pressure provides an additional impetus. Earlier this year, Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer  asked

Trump to declassify UAP documents as a component of wider transparency legislation. The combination of Congressional hearings, the Pentagon's recruitment for UAP-related positions, and public demands for more information has fostered a political climate in which such an action could potentially take place, at least in theory.

UFO proponents are intensifying their efforts. In January, disclosure advocate Dr. Steven Greer that he had discussions with Trump administration officials and examined drafts of executive orders aimed at UAP transparency. Some suggest that Trump's history of declassifying documents—ranging from Crossfire Hurricane materials to various political files—demonstrates a readiness to overcome bureaucratic hesitance. Enthusiasts weave these elements together, imagining a significant unveiling.

Additionally, Newsnation five days ago that investigative journalist Michael Shellenberger claims the United States has transferred retrieved UFO and UAP technology to private firms. "Trump must communicate directly with the American public and clarify the situation. There are contradictory messages," Shellenberger stated on Tuesday during an episode of Elizabeth Vargas Reports.

At this point, traders on Polymarket are viewing possibilities as probabilities. It will soon be evident whether they are astute forecasters or merely indulging in an exhilarating and costly experience as the new month approaches.
