If you've ever dreamed of owning your own Bigfoot store, here is your opportunity. After establishing Bigfoot Treasure — previously known as the Twin Cities Trading Post — in downtown Chehalis in 2009, proprietor Mitch Moberg is seeking a passionate cryptozoology enthusiast to take over his one-of-a-kind Sasquatch emporium.
His vision was to establish a specialty shop where fellow Bigfoot aficionados could discover an extensive collection of rare and extraordinary items.
From authentic Sasquatch footprint casts to an impressive array of cryptid-themed collectibles including custom-designed socks, eye-catching bumper stickers, and immersive board games, Bigfoot Treasure houses a remarkable selection of merchandise that Squatch hunters won't find anywhere else.
The Chronicle visited this cryptozoological haven on Tuesday, April 1, to discuss Moberg's search for a new steward of this unique establishment.
"My intention is to transition into a landlord role rather than managing day-to-day retail operations, which has been my primary focus for most of my career," Moberg explained. "I'm ready to explore new horizons in the Bigfoot community."
He aims to concentrate on developing an experience-based business model with outdoor events and "possibly some wilderness expeditions."
Moberg plans to retain ownership of the 548 N. Market Blvd. property.

While his preference is to find someone who will preserve Bigfoot Treasure's current identity and inventory selection, he acknowledges that changes may be inevitable.
The spacious facility spans 2,800 square feet.
"Once we negotiate terms with a qualified tenant, they'll have autonomy over the space. Ideally, we'll find someone to take over Bigfoot Treasure as is, which would be the smoothest transition," Moberg stated.
Moberg emphasizes that the store will remain operational during his search for a successor.
"We have no plans to shut down. I love being part of downtown's cryptozoology community," he continued. "It's a rewarding venture. I'm simply seeking new adventures while still enjoying my current role."
