Recent earthquakes and volcanoes have been previously predicted by psychics, geophysicists, and geologists. We’ll take a quick look at who got it right and what may still be coming!

Psychic Rio Tatsuki is given credit for several predictions, two of which involved earthquakes/volcanos. Tatsuki is a writer who published a comic book based on her vivid dreams titled, “The Future I Saw.” In this book, she predicts a major earthquake and tsunami in March of 2011. As predicted, The Tohoku Earthquake on March 11, 2011 was a 9.0 and created a massive tsunami. She also predicted a major disaster for July 5, 2025. Because her prediction of the 2011 catastrophe was correct, people avoided traveling to any areas that could be affected by another major event. Interestingly, apparently at the request of her publisher, she made statements in June 2025 that the disaster could happen anytime in July. It did. She is credited by many to have accurately predicted the 8.8 Kamchatka earthquake on July 29, 2025.

What Edgar Cayce Had to Say:
A more familiar name in psychic predictions has also predicted a few earthquake/volcanic events for our future. Edgar Cayce has a terrifying prediction regarding the eruptions of Mt Etna (Italy), Mt. Pelee (Caribbean) and/or Mt Vesuvius (Italy). Cayce predicted that an eruption of Mt Etna between the 1930s and 1990s would cause subsequent flooding as a result of a polar shift set in motion by the eruptions. There were six notable eruptions in that period, the largest occurred from 1991 through 1993.
The prediction regarding Mt. Pelee / Mt Vesuvius is a little different. In this future vision, Cayce saw either of these eruptions causing major earthquakes three months after one erupted in California, which will be so powerful that flooding and waves of water will make it as far east as Nevada and Utah and essentially, taking California off the map.

Geologists who met at the 2025 Goldschmidt Conference in Prague in July discussed data showing a possible increase in volcanic eruptions. The only data set released at this point connected the direct correlation between increased glacial water from melting glaciers and an increase in volcanoes, specifically in Russia, North America, New Zealand, and Antarctica. This article on the subject was published July 7, 2025- 22 days before the Kamchatka quake and subsequent Krasheninnikov volcano eruption.
You’ll have to do a little research on your own if you want to keep up to date on any seismic activity. Potential megaquakes and supervolcanoes aren’t great for the tourism industry, so you’re not likely to get any headlines until after an event has occurred.
