A landowner and avid hunter in Cannon County Tennessee contacted me to let me know that he found a dead and mutilated male deer on his property approximately one month ago. At the time, he was out with his dogs in a heavily wooded area when the dogs alerted him to something. After approaching the dead animal the man was surprised to see that there was no blood, no tracks, and that the animal had not been eaten by predators.

Instead, the man found that the left side of the area over the jaw and the anus had been cut out with precision. "The flesh and hide had not been torn or ripped open, and there were no bite marks. It looked like a laser made the cuts," remarked the witness, who also stated that the antlers with three points had not been removed either. The witness said that he had never seen anything like it.
When asked if any strange phenomena had occurred in the area he said no, and that he also checked with his neighbors who had nothing unusual happen on their properties.
This is the second deer mutilation report I've received in three months. We have to wonder how many are never found or reported and
if whoever is doing this type of thing has switched to mutilating deer instead of cows.
