Updated: Apr 22, 2022

If you like good stories that keep you on the edge of your seat, whether you’re sitting around a campfire, in a movie theater, or listening to the radio with the lights out, Dave Schrader is a man who takes pleasure out of bringing you into the world of creepy crawlers.

Starting in 2006, Dave earned the reputation as a pioneer in paranormal talk radio with his long-running show, “Darkness Radio,” that ran for 16 years before he began the very popular podcast, The Paranormal 60 with Dave Schrader. He also served as a regular fill-in host for George Noory on “Coast-to-Coast AM,” a show heard worldwide with millions of listeners.

Whether your tastes go from ghosts and haunted houses, vampires, werewolves, spirit possession and exorcism, it’s all open territory for Schrader who doesn’t just report on unusual paranormal claims – Dave investigates them himself, traveling the world, looking for the truth of the supernatural.

Dave’s passion for the strange, fringe and bizarre has taken him from behind the microphone of his podcast to becoming the lead paranormal investigator on the Travel Channel/Discovery+ hit TV series, “The Holzer Files.” He’s also guested on shows like “Paranormal State,” “Paranormal Challenge,” “Ghost Adventures,” “Ghost Adventures Screaming Room,” “Ghost Adventures Aftershocks,” “Haunted Hospitals,” “Ghost Hunt Live: Salem” and “Jack Osborne’s Fright Club,” with the Ghost Brothers.

From the historic and haunted battlefields of Gettysburg to the real Transylvania, following the footsteps of the legendary Dracula, to Scotland, in search of the Loch Ness Monster, Dave’s listeners join his adventures. He’s also a popular and sought-after public speaker on all aspects of the paranormal.

Dave co-authored the book, “The Other Side: A Teen’s Guide to Ghost Hunting and the Paranormal.” His own experiences with the supernatural began in his early years.

“My grandmother made her way to me after she passed away. She visited when I was very young. That was the start of it and I had a very supportive family who never made the supernatural taboo. They would speak about it in very matter-of-fact terms and imbibed me when I wanted to read about it or ask questions about it. I grew up in a haunted home and had experiences of all different sorts involving the supernatural and I love talking to experiencers about monsters, myths, legends and more.”

Dave recalls growing up in a pretty normal-looking home.

“The house where I grew up wasn’t like an Addams Family haunted, creepy, gothic mansion that was filled with spooks and spectres. Our house was a ranch-style in suburban Illinois, and we just knew we weren’t alone.”

The Paranormal 60 with Dave Schrader is an ongoing testimony to his personal mission.

“I’m always in search of and go out and look for any kind of communication and proof that we do exist beyond this physical form.

“Even when I think I understand what’s going on, I’m left wondering if we’re dealing with disincarnate souls or parallel universes bumping up against us or time slips where we’re seeing through a thread bare portion of time and space. I don’t know. I love it and that’s what keeps me in it, wanting to seek answers, and to try to help spirits and try to help me understand and the families understand that are dealing with this.”

The Paranormal 60 with Dave Schrader is a fast-moving, streamlined 60-minute program, crafted for today’s listeners. It features short-form interviews that get right to the heart of some of the most fascinating paranormal claims ever heard with compelling guests and real-life experiences with the unknown. Each episode also includes different segments from spellcasting to supernatural-themed movie reviews, breaking news on books and entertainment, along with reports of monsters, myths and legends.

While listening to any episode of The Paranormal 60 with Dave Schrader, you’ll realize that Dave doesn’t hunt the paranormal – it hunts him.
